MARS (Medical Archiving& Research System)

MARS is an electronic patient registry . Its main function is to store detailed medical patient records. The data is captured in a very detailed fashion that can be used in medical research. The data stored in MARS is then used as
- a detailed patient record for daily clinical activities
- a research database where powerful search functions enable researchers to pinpoint specific cases
- a data archive that makes paper archives redundant.

MARS is a powerful hospital automation system. All the activity including admit/discharge operations, appointments, surgeries and other activities can be managed using MARS.   Mars is designed to address the needs of researchers. Medical data about visits, diagnoses, and operations are kept together with standardt CPT and ICD codes.

With a functional user interface all past data of a patient can be accessed easily. The System can be integrated with main hospital operations systems to provide data flow between the two systems.

In addition to its standard functions, researchers can design data collection forms for their specific research areas. This feature allows more detailed data collection for specific cases.

Another powerful feature of MARS is its "search engine". This flexible query tool allows researchers to locate patients with specific characteristics easily.
